"We broke up" – a simple statement that encapsulates the end of a chapter in one's life. Yet, behind those three words lie a myriad of emotions, experiences, and realizations. It takes courage to acknowledge when something isn't working, especially when that something is a romantic relationship. Love is supposed to be the glue that binds two people together, but what happens when that glue loses its adhesive quality?

Feeling Trapped

Loveless relationships can often feel like a maze with no exit. A relationship devoid of love, sustained merely out of a sense of responsibility, can suffocate even the strongest of spirits.

The False "Responsibility"

We tried to navigate our loveless journey by convincing ourselves that we were staying together out of responsibility, for our family. The notion of duty can blur the lines between staying for the right reasons and staying for the wrong ones.

As days turned into weeks and weeks into months, an insidious emotion began to creep in – resentment. The absence of love created a void that was filled with bitterness, anger, and disappointment. What was once a partnership built on shared dreams and aspirations had become a battleground of hurt feelings and unmet expectations. The intense hostility replaced the initial attempt to maintain a front of togetherness.

The Journey to Liberation

Breaking free from the shackles of a loveless relationship is not a straightforward path. It requires self-reflection, courage, and a willingness to confront the truth. I realized that staying together for the wrong reasons was doing more harm than good. The fear of the unknown was overshadowed by the certainty of ongoing misery.
